My kids started swimming with Coach Harris about two years ago. Neither one had ever had a lesson or been involved in organized sports. It’s was immediately apparent that he was a no nonsense kind of coach. Just what every kid needs! He can get even the most timid of swimmers to jump right in. He demands a lot but earns their respect. My kiddos LOVE him. They are both now swimming on their high school team and my 7 year old started this summer in the beginner class. His focus is mainly on technique with less focus on speed. He believes if they have perfect technique the speed will come. He also has an assistant coach that is amazing as well. She is the sweet side of West Texas Swim Coaching. Together they make a great team! Coach also has a passion for open water swimming and in the summer the A and B teams swim at Lake Meredith on Saturday’s. He has a very well rounded program to teach kids the ropes of competitive swimming. I highly recommend West Texas Swim Coaching. Go Islanders!

My daughter has taken swim lessons from him fro two years. Coach is firm by fair and focuses on the basis. He understands that practice make permanent and not necessarily perfect, so he makes sure that when they practice they practice using correct strokes. He is less concerned initially with speed then he is making sure that the muscle memory is learned correctly. My daughter has improved immensely and enjoys swim team and her lessons.
