I had high hopes for Adventureland Inn. We booked a room for my sons birthday. He loves Adventureland and loves to swim. I had read the reviews but still stayed positive. I should have listened to the reviews! The whole place needs to be updated. I dont know if it is because the hotel has a lot of pools, but the whole building smelled bad. We got to our room and it was dark and smelly. The fridge smelled horrible so we opened it up and there were LIVE bugs crawling in it. We called the front desk and they moved us down the hall to a suite. It was nice but still smelled unpleasant. It was big and spacious with a couch and table. The table was so wobbly that we could not even sit and eat at it. (It felt like it was one thing after another with our stay) The pools were nothing to get excited about. I thought there would be slides and other activities. I feel that the pool could use some updating too. We took my son to the arcade to play. The two young men behind the counter were so unfriendly. They acted as if we should not even be bothering them. When I went up to put MORE money on our card, they both just sat there and looked at me. They were unfriendly and could definitely use some new training. The one thing I did like was that they had Bath and Body works shampoo and conditioner. It smelled great. Overall we were pretty disappointed and will probably not stay here again for quite some time.

Wouldnt recommend! The ceiling was literally falling on the beds! The price was too high for what they offer and how old the place is. The arcade had like 20 games and the pools are small. The rooms were horrible, old and dirty. I told the front desk about the ceiling falling on the beds they said: ok. They did nothing about it. Dont waste your money. I guess they were so busy responding to our food order by telling the guy to go to our room that they couldnt provide a better experience! Now they are rude! Definitely would never go there again! And a remodel is very much needed... so dont charge for a resort if its no better then motel 6.

Overall decent hotel definitely clean...could use some updating. I like the little patios that you get when you rent a suite but I feel its over priced even for a regular room. However its a convenient location next to Adventureland and right off the interstate. They also have a cute gift shop and a fantasic restaurant Spectators Sports Bar & Grill super fast service tons of TVs nice big room off the back if you have a large party. Also the food at the Spectators Sports Bar & Grill was FANTASTIC we had a large party and everybody loved their food!!!

It is call an Inn...it is not a hotel it is a motel. It is connected though right to the Adventure Land parking lot. So staying at the Inn includes your parking and a trolley pass to the front gate.Be aware - the Adventure Bay water park is in the clear back of the entire park...no other entrance. U will walk the entire park to get to the water park. The Inn is in a very high traffic location. Kind of dirty and run down looking outside. Inside the rooms are good and the rest seems a bit run down and it was over crowded...and in these covid times not good. Not many nice places to eat close by by their sports bar was good.It is an ok place if u need a quick over night get away. And do not expect to get an earlyHave Fun

We arrived on 8/6/2020, we had a 2 queen size room, the fan was very loud. After calling the front desk, they sent someone to fix it. It was attempted, but after getting back from supper, it appeared to still be noisy. The front desk offered to upgrade us to a family suite, this worked out very well. The room was large and comfy, especially with two of our grandchildren staying with us. The hotel is very clean , yes a little old in places, but clean. The staff is excellent, the pools are awesome, my grandkids love the playroom. And the sports bar has good affordable food. We actually ate breakfast from the store, and it also was very good. And of course, since we were going to Adventureland, having “Molly” to ride back and forth is also wonderful.

Five stars from the kiddos, 3 from the adults. Room was so loud!!! Not just the guests, but the doors wont close without slamming. The arcade was great, games for both kids (2 & 4), but many of them were out order, which was a bummer. Pools were only open until 9:30, but considering the noise level, I understand why. Pools were fun, just crowded and definitely aimed for kids. Restaurant on site was delicious. Overall, this is an experience for the children, so adults should be prepared.

Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. First we was quoted $89 a night per room plus tax. So when we got there and got put in 101 and 103 we walked in the rooms did not smell as if they were just cleaned. The patio door for room 103 the handel was about to fall off as the patio door on the fence was also broken. Felt a little unsafe. Well you get what you pay for is what I told my mother. The air was loud and didnt keep the room cool as we had to go get fans from the front desk. The arcade would have been awesome if most of the games wound not have been out of order. The pool had tons of leaves and bugs in the water witch I could see the roof window was open. The swim up bar that we was told opened at 4pm not once ever opened. Then when we get charged $178.08 per room that is ridiculous. Very disappointed and when my mother called to ask why our rates went up the assistant manager was rather rude to her. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The pools are great for entertaining kids and adults, the restaurant food was pretty good and reasonably priced. The biggest downfall was housekeeping. The first night there were bags of laundry and trash down our hall from the 3pm until I called the front desk after 7 pm. Housekeeping made one bed, but little guys diaper had leaked, they didnt change sheets, just threw covers over the top of wet sheet. They didnt give extra coffee or condiments for next morning. The rooms have refrigerators, but the only microwave available is in gift shop by the front desk.

Our ceiling had wet spots from previous roof leak our door joining rooms did not latch or have a lock and we were woken up to kids walking in our room. Would not recommend this hotel at all. The room was not clean and there was soap residue still in the bathroom. We ended up having a balcony that was not mentioned we would not only share but would be available for anyone to walk on. The bar was not really a bar I ordered a daiquiri which tasted like watered down jello. Of course a kids hotel you expect kids to run around but during the night having kids knock on the door and looking off balcony they’re running the halls. We enjoyed the game room I’d say that was the part my kids loved. Pool was freezing beware!

The really only appeal on this property are the pools and hot tubs. Our room was pretty small and one of the bathroom sinks was clogged up. There were no pictures on the wall and the tv was pretty small. The tv reminded me of computer monitor screen (small). I think they are updating some of the rooms in the hotel. I know our room needed updated. The beds arent very comfortable either. We had a fridge but no microwave in our room. The temperature control is kind of weird too and it constantly blew air on the bed furthest from the vent.

I am back at the Adventureland Inn, a place I visit probably two or three times per year. The place has been fairly consistently good over the 42 years that I have been a paying customer here. I live a couple hours away but have family in the area. This is a good place to come for a getaway, or when coming to Adventureland Amusement Park. The rooms are nice, particularly the family suites, which are poolside. They have two separate indoor courtyards, both have pools and both are lined with rooms that overlook them. The rooms are always clean, and the beds are comfortable. The courtyards are always noisy with happy children playing in the pool but at night the rooms are quiet and sleep is accomplished easily. The availability of food has been sparse over the years although the new sports bar is promising and the food that I have eaten there was tasty. At the present time room service meals are nonexistent, but you can get food from the sports bar “to go“.

Great location and amenities inside the hotel itself. Obviously its priced higher than the more economical hotels in the surrounding area but youll save on parking at Adventureland itself and the hassle of walking to your car if you had to park far away with the trolley service. The restaurant inside has a great breakfast buffet and the staff are always friendly. The pools inside the hotel even have lifeguards at both pools for added ease of mind with little ones. Though, especially if you go on the weekends expect it to be packed and get reservations months in advance or it could easily be booked.

We planned a stay and paid in advance for two rooms on the 4th of July. My family’s plan was Adventureland on the 4th swimming at the Inn on the 5th. The night of our stay we didn’t check in until 5 pm and only one room was available for the housekeeping being behind on cleaning. We had two families with us that had to clean up/shower before dinner sharing one room because of this. We left and did not get confirmation on the second room until 9:40 pm. RIDICULOUS! The hotel parking lot wasn’t even near full. Then the second room didn’t have any pillows? It took until 11 PM for them to “round up” pillows for us. The remote for the tv in the first roll didn’t work but ours worked for both? Also the pool is closed for “cleaning” from 12-3 so there went our seconds days plans. I will add none of this was told to me when I called and made reservations over the phone. The rooms were not that clean I have photos of crumbs/food left on the floor and a big dead bug on the floor of one room. After an extra 6 hours to clean? Nothing was compensated for our loss of time or convenience. The shop in the lobby doesn’t have little boys swimsuits, so if you are like us and have a young child who left their trunks at the park you are out of luck. Staff wasn’t friendly. The arcade was nice, while we enjoyed that we watched and noticed no one did any sanitizing or extra cleaning in the pool area like it was claimed. Whole place is beat down the old ac system sounds like a train in the hallways.Wayy over priced for what you get. I would never recommend again. You’d be better off staying the 15 minutes away in Des Moines.

It really didnt live up to the hype. We used sanitizing wipes on the room upon arrival and every surface was extremely dirty especially the remote and the phone. The whole place seemed run down. The floor in the West pool is literally falling apart and painful to walk on without shoes. Only two of the jets in both hot tubs worked. Everything seemed outdated. Also the non slip pad in the shower was coming up around the edges and was DISGUSTING underneath. People come there with their kids and may need to give them a bath, which was impossible for us because of the filth so we had to shower a small child. And then at the end of the day we say down to watch TV just to find out that the sensor isnt working correctly so we had to get up everytime we wanted to change the channel. This place was NOT worth 100 bucks a night. Maybe 50 for how run down, old, and gross it was. OH, and the morning of our departure I was getting dressed when a man came and knocked on my door and told me that check out was at 11 so I said I know that and asked him what time it was, he said it was 11. I told him I was sorry and would be right out and shut the door and went to look at my phone at the time and it was only 10.
