Very great place to see a movie. Great comfy reclining seats, arranged in a way so theres no worrying about having a 7ft tall behemoth sit in front of you. Concession prices are fair, (2.50 for a large soda isnt *TOO* bad.) I actually really liked it here.

I went here to watch Unplanned. I was very impressed that they had the movie and I was glad that they let us get tickets ahead of time. Theater was packed for this movie.

Comfortable recliners. Good picture and sound. Customer service is lacking. They will always be a second-tier theater unless that changes.

It was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The theater itself was pretty and well kept. The bathrooms were clean and up to date. The seats were beyond comfortable. If the movies werent so exciting, I would have fallen asleep!! The only thing I wish was better was the concessions. It was a bit of a jumbled mess, but not terrible. The food choices were great though!! Would definitely recommend and I will come again!!

Über nice recliners for seats, concessions have plenty options! Screams are perfect size so if you sit in the first row just recline back and enjoy. Not a big deal. Easy to use kiosks right inside the door as well. Worth the money people.

This is a very nice movie theater. The seats are comfortable and recline. The seats are electric and your feet will go up if you want them to. The concessions is great. I recommend getting a refillable popcorn container. You will love the popcorn and drinks. You might not like the movie if you picked the wrong movie. But you can’t blame them if you picked the wrong movie.

Would have been clever to be open on July 3rd to sell popcorn and bathroom access.

Saw the My Hero Academia: Heros Rising movie with the kids. Theater is top notch. Did have to run out and tell them to turn up the sound, which they did right away. Thanks for carrying such a rare movie! We drove 1.5 hours to see it. Thanks again.

Waited for 15 mins to get concession items. Spills all over the floor. Not the cashiers fault. They were running multiple areas

I love this theater. It is both clean and comfortable. I accidentally ordered tickets for two movies at two theaters and was given some wrong information and the general manager made it right.

Purchasing tickets ahead of time makes the process of going to the movies seamless. So simple to get the ticket ahead of time and skip the lines.I dont partake in the concessions very often but what Ive had has been great (and similarly priced to any other theatre). I also like that they offer adult beverage options.I have found that this theatre can sometimes be a little chilly so snuggle up or wear something warm. Seats are comfortable and gotta love the adjustable reclining feature.Last movie I went to had about 30 minutes of commercials and previews, so also be prepared for that. Overall good movie-going experience!

Nice to have movie time again

Great theater. Its one of the only theaters on the DSM metro area where I can comfortably attend a movie. The fully reclining seats accommodate my particular disability perfectly. I do wish their restrooms were better thought out, though. If one is handicapped and uses a device for mobility that is their hands, one must grab paper towels prior to washing first. Otherwise, the place is pretty well set up for those with disability needs.

Not the cheapest theater in town but clean and friendly always. Their lobby is a bit confusing if youve never been there but if you stay with the flow of regulars you can easily figure it out. The seats are comfortable and the popcorn is fresh, hot, and buttered to your liking. The staff is nice and accommodating.

This place is very family friendly. There is an arcade while you wait to be seated. Many concessions, and a little shop with all the most recent movie merchandise. All around warm environment and everything is clean.

The movie watching experience was fine, the reclining seats are comfortable and the theater seems clean. The concession stand service however was slow and unorganized. People just get served randomly by calling out, it took almost 30 mins to get pretzel bites, they just needed more employees.

Very nice new theatres. Seats recline with foot rests are very comfortable. Be sure and sign up with their movie club to get free stuff including tickets. Prices of food items are $$$ high. No longer will people with large purses be allowed in movie. Pick out seats when paying. A nice feature! One decent movie playing about a dogs view of life which was sort of sad but realistic. Other features looked like horror films and/or vile or violent films not worth seeing. Too many of these movies made now. Had popcorn and pop also high priced.

We were so excited to see a movie in a theater again, as I have a disability and am only comfortable for extended times when reclined. So finding a theater with reclining seats was a thrill! We purchased seats in the front row, thinking they would only offer them if they were a good way to watch a movie. They were horrible!! We were way too close to be able to see the entire screen, so often missed a lot of what was happening. All 4 of us had neck aches for days after we were there. Using the restroom was difficult at best since I could not fit (& I am 138 lbs., 56) with my walking stick between the front wall and other peoples reclined feet by walking straight ahead to get from my seat to the aisle! The theater and restrooms were dirty and full of litter on floors with overflowing garbage cans everywhere--all at 12 noon! We were surprised and disappointed to say the least. Wont go back anytime soon.

The only way to see a movie! If you can stay awake that is. People can walk by you even if you are fully reclined, darn nice.

I enjoy going to see movies at this theater. The actual rooms and reserved seats are great. My only issue is that the restrooms are always filthy and some facilities do not work. Hoping management reads this review and does the necessary fixing to maintain this place of business.

This is a really nice theater. All of the seats are power recliners and the video and sound quality are excellent. You can buy a beer or a glass of wine to enjoy with your movie. We have seen multiple movies here and will be back for future movies. My only complaints are standard for any theater; people seriously need to shut off their phones and not talk throughout the movie.

I bought tickets online way before the movie time and when at the tickets stand where they take the tickets they asked for our IDs (all 3 of us were over 18) 1 of us did not have our ID on us and they would no let us in w/any other sort of identification. When we went to the cash register where tickets r bought asking if we could get a refund or what was possible the girl rudely and shortly answered us we don’t do refunds. When we had had a refund to us before and did not get asked for our IDs a week ago when we went. After the girl told us we couldn’t get a refund we asked for credit and she disrespectfully said I can’t do anything for u and walked away. Horrible customer service. A group behind us of 5 were also not allowed entrance because of ID and were denied a refund or any other assistance they were stuck trying to give their tickets away. And another group had the 2 people that were not allowed In because the girl had to have a guardian with her when the people accompanying her were over 18 with ID. They claim that the reason for no refund is because it was past the movie time but we got there before the movie and they didn’t let us in. They messed up my Starbucks. The girl making it did not fill up the cup or put the correct flavor. I would have not been bothered if they handled it accordingly but the staff was not friendly and respectful

This is a great theater. Lots of movie rooms and great chairs that rock!its very clean and family friendly. A good concession stand with lots to choose from a bit pricey though! But I recommend highly!

I was extremely displeased with the customer service at this theater. Its hard to know if this was a case of lazy employees or a culture of fear and inhospitably. Accidents happen, but the way I was treated was no accident. As long as everything goes according to plan, this theater is probably fine, but things dont always go according to plan. When something goes wrong, I expect that a place of business will provide some assistance. That did not happen. I havent left a negative review in years, but this warrants one.

This was our first time here, seemed pretty clean. great concession options, the chairs are super comfy. The only thing I would make a bad comment on is I went back out to concession area right before movie was to start and there was only one person to handle a fairly busy time.

That movie theater was amazing. It was super comfy and the movie was extremely loud. Thats a good thing the audio was crisp clear and impactful. You could feel the base and every single low audio pitch. Theres a large selection of food to buy as most cinemark. The people are friendly and dont look like they want to die. Prices are a little out there but for the level of comfort and amazing sound quality its definitely worth it. Best movie theater in the area.

I absolutely love this theater! They have large reclining leather seats with cup holders, very spacious, fast service, many restrooms, and offer a movie club membership for $8 a month and you receive a fee movie ticket every month, which pays for itself!

We have been several times and there are always moths flying around which is very distracted. When we saw Ad Astra there was a cricket chirping away during the quieter space scenes which takes you out of the story. Hire an EXTERMINATOR please!

Its about how you would expect, I dont usually go to movie theaters but theres always exceptions. I dont particularly care for the way the snacks / drinks are set up, but thats just because I never get anything so I wasnt sure if I could just skip going through the whole string of stuff. Ended up just going right into the hall to find my movie and I wasnt told it was bad so I guess that worked out. I will say, I know stuff is silly and over priced, but I do love that you can get Toys, shirts, etc at this place.

Enjoyed the movie. The seats are incredible. Popcorn was delicious, there is nothing like hot buttered theater popcorn. Everyone was cheerful and helpful. Cant wait to go back.

Got passes from work, tried using them online and couldnt so I called to see if they could do it via the phone and the manager was rude and wouldnt even try to work with me. So called the Ames theater instead who was willing to work with us and very understanding. Wont be back to the Altoona Theater.

Big reclining chairs, reserved seating (if you like that) nice picture and great sound even in the smallest rooms. Only negative is pricey concessions, but hey they serve adult beverages.

Between this one, and Jordan Creek, I love having Cinemark options so close. Comfy recliners and awesome sound. I go here frequently.

Manager came up to ticket counter was we were presenting our tickets and was extremely rude made my daughter lift her arms and made us shake blankets when no other guests were presented with such treatment. We requested a refund a different manager assisted us, this manager came to help other customers and while she was helping another customers proceeded to attempt to argue with me in front of everyone. We went to the new Ankeny theater and were not presented with the same treatment. We will never go back to Cinemark Altoona.

Went last night for Avengers. I understand it was busy, but the mens bathroom had NO SOAP IN ANY DISPENSER. I asked an employee who said they would send someone to refill them, and waited for a while. Still no soap. It is disgusting. That should have been priority number one. My stomach is still churning thinking about employees using the bathroom, wiping themselves, maybe touching the door handles and faucets, to just rinse them off with water and then scoop up popcorn. I hope there is a faucet in the concession area for them, but didnt look. I threw my popcorn out. Who knows how long they were out of soap? I ended up washing up in a unisex bathroom. Thoroughly disgusted with that place.

Ive just spent 20 minutes arguing with a manager. A while back I had to leave a movie cos their projector broke. So they gave me a movie pass. Now theyre telling me my movie pass wont work on a movie unless its been out for 2 weeks first. So much for taking care of the customer. She just wrote down my pass # and walked a we at without saying anything at all.Update: Ive been standing here for 30 minutes now. Still waiting. This is insane. These people are so rude. They wont do anything to help you and their clearly apathetic when it comes to helping their customers.

A/C in the main XD theater was either broke or not on during my last visit which was extremely uncomfortable. Normally a 4/5 star experience depending upon how much prices matter to customers. Staff is nice and theater quallity is top notch.

Good location: walking distance from Adventureland, prairie meadows race track, and a dimensional portal hidden in the Shriners temple.Minus a star due to the popcorn being average.

Went and saw Endgame at this Cinemark. The place was packed! It is an average movie theater and they offer your normal popcorn, candy and sodas. The way they have the sodas arranged is a bit inconvenient as you must wait in line to fill up (it is self serve soda) after waiting in line to order it. The theater itself was great, I love the big, comfy reclining seats and cup holders. The one star taken away is because the popcorn and soda prices are always really high. Would go again easily!

Seen the new Halloween movie. Movie was amazing, seating was great love the comfy reclining chairs. Food and beverage is easy to do and prices are very fair! Staff is friendly and welcoming.... Great place highly recommend it!!!

I had to wait so long for my concessions that I missed the beginning of my movie. I dont know if they were short handed or what but the line was super long and this was on a Wed night. No apology, no explanation. Besides that it is a lovely theater with very comfortable seats.

Drove 45 minutes to go to this theater and once we got there we paid and proceeded to watch It:Chapter 2 and right before we got to the actual movie, we got told we could not watch the movie because our son was too young but didnt even bother to ID a girl in front of us that looked younger than the age needed. Reserved seating ensures you and anyone else with you can stick together and be right where you want to be.All the usual concessions but in a self serve and checkout isle style which was great. Plus you can even grab some beer for your movie! Yeah maybe ballpark prices but nice to have something for the adults to sip on!Reclining leather loungers! What!? You can even turn it into a loveseat! I normally leave a theater with a numb leg and annoyed that I had to sit next some stinky dude, but not here!Will be going back!

Seats are great and comfy! Popcorn is day-old, cold and chewy, though. So disappointed that the most expensive part of date night wasnt good. Wish you took more pride in your concessions. Might sacrifice reclining seats to go to a different theater so serves fresh popcorn in the future.

We love going to all Cinemark theatres but love this one the most around here. It was built for the recliners, rather than having them put in after like most of the theaters. Staff is friendly and helpful. Popcorn can be expensive, but it works out if you attended on discount days. They always have lots of times for the best movies and make purchasing tickets easy.

My grandson is 6 & we both love to go to this place for the comfort.The staff is always very helpful & nice.

The movie theater is so boujee. The seat are comfortable and recline. The food is delicious. The tickets arent as expensive as other places that have the same amenities. They always have the newest movies and are very friendly and helpful. It is a very nice movie theater and I hope I go again soon.
