It’s a really nice facility for fitness enthusiasts. They have a guy, basketball court, soccer court, racquetball court, tennis court, yoga classes, swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, eucalyptus room. They also have kids room. Towel services, and also offer smoothies. It’s a huge place and great options to workout and stay fit. Only 4 starts because the bathrooms and not kept clean all the time, and it smells bad. Besides that it’s the best option around for all the services you get. They also offer discount if you work for a local company. Check out there website. Would recommend it.

Love their exercise classes and trainers. They have a beautiful pool area and water aerobics classes. Best exercise club in the area. Gave it 5 stars

The summit is a gem in Altoona. they offer tennis basketball a pool professional messages and more. This is all my opinion and what I have observed and believe to be correct. however I found green molding in the jacuzzi witch leads me to wonder how often the water is drained and the area is cleaned. Tiles are broken in many areas. In general I feel that maintenance is neglected so its only natural I feel cleaning is neglected as well. For the prices and contracts available I still believe planet fitness to be the better choice as they are open all night and are a newer facility only costing 10 dollars month. If the summit would remodel or fix things to reflect the prestige membership then I would consider being member again.

Nice facility but many parts are not usable because the rules are not enforced. 2-3 people take up 7 or more pieces of equipment by laying there bags and bodies on them for long periods of time. Same violators are allowed to slam and drop weights on the ground creating an unsafe and loud environment. Would be a great 5 star facility if they enforced their rules. Joined another gym !!

We were in town for just a week and the weekly membership was a great deal! James gave my 5 yo daughter swimming lessons and was so good with her that people thought he was her dad! I highly recommend the Summit and especially James for swim lessons with little kids.

Terrible. Do not recommend for birthday parties. The staff was screaming at my nieces and nephews telling them to shut up and disrespecting them. I yelled at the staff told them not to tell my nephew to shut up. Keep in mind they were only 3-5 splashing and being kids. Staff ran go the manager and the manager was so rude. Do not come here.

Ive been a member for 9 months and I love it here! The staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment is well maintained, and the people Ive met here are so encouraging and welcoming. I go 3-5 times a week, and I can leave my 13-month old in the kids room with no worries; hes been going since he was 5 months old. He loves the workers in there and always has fun. They know him, he knows them, and they always give him any food I send for him. If it werent for them, I wouldnt be able to get my workouts in, so Im really appreciative that they have childcare. Ive been really pleased with my experience here, and I recommend it to anyone with small kids who needs a break and exercise!

My husband and I paid for us both to use the gym (which is expensive) for him the gym is perfectly fine and he has gotten a good bit of use from the membership. I, on the other hand, cant go.I would need to bring my two young children and theres absolutely no way I will leave them in the care facility there again. There is no security. They dont check IDs . You simply write your childs name on a paper and sign yours. When you pick your child up they dont check IDs to make sure your who signed the child in. Lack of security is a real problem. The room itself is also very small. The staff that were there the day I tried to get a work out in looked miserable and were both rude , no introductions, and they looked purely annoyed that we were dropping kids off.

Best value for your money as far as amenities. However, its well past needing updated/modernized. My biggest gripe is employees and management do nothing for conflict resolution. They allow bullying and I have even witnessed their GM and trainers stand by and do nothing when it is going on right in front of them. The offer a ton of classes and its great for that but if you are into weight training, stay away. There are plenty of other gyms that have opened in Altoona recently and promote a better and more supportive culture.

Im in a wheelchair and met with someone who works there and she took me through a tour of the facility and NOTHING was accessable for me except maybe the free weights and that was a joke. Parking lot wasnt good for me with a van because I needed a little extra room for my lift. The yearly prices even with my military discount was still outrageous. So Im not recommending this for my reasons stated above.

My husband and I were long time members of another local gym and occasionally would venture off to try to find a new one due to poor conditions and we always went back, we recently joined the Summit bc our daughter will be playing in the AAU league there. We absolutely LOVE all it has to offer!! I think we finally have found our permanent gym!!

Hands down the best club in the area! So many different activities to do not only for me but my wife and kids as well. I always start my workouts in the sauna and then into the weight room, which has everything you can imagine. My wife loves the free group exercise classes and all of the new cardio equipment and TVs. Our kids really enjoy action hours and have even recently started swim lessons. Only $70 per month for the whole family and everything is included. Awesome!

The summit has so much to offer the public. They have many workout classes thru the week that I participate in. Aerobics, step, body blast and yoga are just a few. There is also a beautiful pool, sauna and tennis courts. I have been to many workout clubs and the summit beats them all. I would also like to mention the well qualified trainers and class instructors. Best in the area!

This facility is lackluster and needs a lot of major updates. The thing that stood out to me the most was improper handling of mismanagement. The management of the facility didnt own up to their mistake and error on the side of the member. Instead, they blamed the miscommunication on a staff member who wasnt present at the facility and then proceeded to tell the member that the entire court was reserved for an outside function. This is the only gym that Ive been to that didnt error on the side of the member.

Extremely horrible customer service and a dishonest company. My brother-in-law recently got a membership after being told he could bring his wife (my sister), whom is immobile in a wheelchair, free of charge. After 10-20 visits, he was informed by a terribly rude front desk receptionist manager that my sister would have to pay $5 a visit from here on out. To sit in a wheelchair and use zero facilities. She was extremely combative the entire conversation, the least professional encounter I have ever witnessed. Aside from that employee, he was lied to and swindled into a contract and is now no longer able to go because of false promises. I was about to join along with a few friends, but none will ever visit this establishment again. Word of mouth is a very powerful tool, and I will be sure to inform the hundreds of people I see a day while at work of the dishonest practices this establishment supports.

I had the WORST experience there! First of all, thry advertise having all this stuff (ie pool, basketball, tennis and racquet ball court) but what they dont tell you is that there are specific times its open to the public but if its in use by another person of the public youre out of luck. You have to reserve the space. To boot their free childcare is horrendous! I went there at 4:15pm. There was one 20 some year old girl who had 2 young infants as well as 6-8 other children in a room that was probably 12 feet by 12 feet. The girl there told me that two other staff members would be coming at 4:30pm. So I waited for the other two staff members to come. When 4:30 rolled around two other 20-some year old girls were there. Mind you, this is the first time I had ever been at the summit. They wanted me to write my sons name (who is 3 months old) on a piece of paper and then sign my name. Didnt ask to s33 my license. Didnt even bother to ask his name nothing! So I put his name on the sheet and signed. So there was an awkward minute where they just looked at me. I was like do you want to hold him? Something? They wanted me to just lay him on their disgusting floor. Needless to say I couldnt leave my child there and I left the gym. I will not be back unless its to swim in which I will pay the $6 guest fee. Save your money. It is NOT worth the $35 a month. Ill stick to planet fitness!
