First time at this location. Nice and clean with facilities and pavilions with grills. Close to bike trail, river and business but secluded all the same.

I wasnt all that impressed with the section of the park I saw, but to be fair, I didnt walk the trail to explore the park fully. There are some nice picnic pavilions here, and the restroom was clean and well maintained. Theres a dog park with agility training equipment, but from what Ive read, you have to get permission to use it, as well as pay a fee to the city.

For having to pay for the dog park it is not properly maintained. The Edwardsville parks are free and better maintained. You would have more use if free.

I use the dog park here, which you must get permission to use and pay the city, but its a nice huge park, but a bit of a mud pit if its wet. Usually results in a dirty backseat of my car and a shower for my dog.

Great dog park ! Sometimes as many as 9 dogs in large dog run.Needs water supply. Many owners bring water and dog dish large size. I have been at park with temp -18 degrees, someone was there with their dog. Played fence running 35 minutes. Come to park learn what fence running is all about.Harry O Davidson JrGreatfull Alton Resident

Got there and realized you were supposed to pay but went in anyway. Not sure what exactly I’d be paying for with the pass though, because there’s no water available and nothing was stocked. Oh and there’s an open sewer drain within view of the park and it smells terrible. I couldn’t imagine paying to be there.

Its a shame Alton cant take care of this park. Right now its full of muddy spots, especially around the gates. Cant they put down some straw or boardwalk? (There were two small boards, but I suspect a patron put them there.) Also, there used to be drinking water for the dogs. What happened to that?

Park is poorly managed. Playground is gone, you have to buy a pass for the dogpark. Which seems nice but we just hung around outside of it.
