The Velvet Note is such a unique venue with the best acoustics, the most talented & brilliant artists who engage authentically with their audience, in a classy, relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The music is mostly jazz and jazz fusion (a music genre that combines jazz harmony and improvisation with rock music, funk, and rhythm and blues.). The house band musicians are so wonderful!!! My favorite nights are Thursdays for open Mic Night. I find that calling (leave voice mail and you will be called back) works well for reserving a table and getting tickets (or some prefer online). Feeling grateful to Tamara Fuller for having the courage to follow her dream and create the Velvet Note. This place provides a unique experience that you will not find anywhere else.

Went to the Velvet Note last Thursday. The spot is small but nice. The food was ok the Jazz vibe is really good. We will go back to hear more Jazz

Intimate Jazz club that has some of the best Jazz artists performing there, plus an open mic/jazz session on Thursday nights. If youre a Jazz lover then this is the place for you! But arrive early. Its a very small venue and fills up fast. You definitely get up close and personal with the performers.

The Velvet Note was a nice place to visit for some live Jazz. The person at the door let us know there was an event going on that night so there was a cost to enter, Im not sure if theres normally a fee. My wife and I stopped here for the first time by chance on a date, and there happened to be a jazz group from out of Tennessee on tour performing that night, so what the heck, we decided to stay and enjoy the event. A waitress brought us menus, we ordered, we were told that the plates were small so sides were recommended. The only real disappointment that night was that the plates were SO SMALL, for the price. Other than that, they gained my recommendation.

Had never been here before and always wanted to go so we did and really enjoyed it. It is a small venue but nice. I think the table and chairs are too bulky in style for the small space...think they should get something less bulky and theyd have a little more room cuz it is difficult to walk around the tables even to get to the bathroom. Its super cool though that its so small that the singers and musicians are right there in front of you. Decent selection of wines, mixed drinks, and food. It was a little cold in there but Im thinking that the performers might be hot and it could probably get hot quickly with it being so small but overall it was very nice and I would definitely go again.

Service is really slow. really slow. My food came out during the last song of the set, so that sucked. The drinks are good, well portioned and fairly priced for this type of place. Food was very good, just very late. The music, however is exceptional! Such an intimate venue, its really awesome. seating it family style so you may sit with another couple.or group so be prepared to make new friends. Performance was awesome and musicians were absolutely incredible. Great date spot, maybe consider eating before and arrive super early! Total date night @ velvet note $300.00 (2 tickets, dinner and couple drinks)

The main reason for anyone to go to The Velvet Note is for the live music. They have great local bands there. Jazz and jazz-rock, sometimes other types of music, I think. But way overpriced, in my opinion. Very small venue.

Beautiful place, great ambiance, great music, top notch performers! You can tell the owner really takes pride in this place in the way its run and she has such a great presence about her. I really enjoyed my night there and will be back! I didnt have any food while there because I ate earlier, but my wife did and said it was very good.

Caught Slim Gambill show. Phenomenal. Waitstaff are professionals. Food is perfect; tasty & date night sized portions. A cozy yet acoustically excellent spot.

Such a huge disappointment. The music was good but thats it. Food was way too pricey for what we received. Took over an hour and a half to get our food and then we didnt have time to eat it as they were clearing out for next show. Also. If an evening is going to cost $200 per couple i feel they shouldnt serve food on plastic plates with plastic silverware.We had a group of 7 and we all agreed that we will never return.

Great music and food! They only offer small plates that are very pricey so I recommend eating a small meal before you go so that you can just order a great cosmopolitan and or a tiny overpriced dessert.

This is a music Lovers Paradise especially Jazz lovers. The people are wonderful and the food is great! Such a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy.

Went to see the Earth wind and fire tribute band. The music was right, the band was tight! The food was great as well. Just a bit dissapointed that the kitchen was out of short ribs...but the crab cakes, shrimp and grits as well as the cheesecake were very tasty. Great neighborhood and location. The club only seats about 40 people...reservations are a must!

Music is always on point… However, the female waitress who serves the food… The young lady needs to dress more appropriately… Her breasts were hanging out when we came into the show recently… I mean all the way out pretty much… It was too over-the-top!!!… This is not a strip joint!!!… It’s supposed to be a jazz club and is supposed to be more upscale… You don’t have to dress sleazy to get a tip… If you dress appropriately and just treat people nicely… You will get a great tip!… Also it makes husbands feel uncomfortable when you are half naked walking around serving food… This should not be allowed! This is not a strip joint!… It’s a jazz club.

It was very intimate. T.C. Carson put on an amazing show. It was my first time there. I would come again. Im from Chicago I wanted to support my brother from Chicago. I had a good seat by the stage. The Velvet Note is the place to be. When I have family coming in town I now have a place to take them to enjoy good entertainment and good !

Saw one of our favorite artists, Frank McComb in the acoustic living room. Great venue and hospitality.

I had a wonderful time celebrating my 51st birthday here! They band wished me a happy birthday! The band was fun and engaging! The staff was super friendly! The food was delicious! What more can I say...Ill be back soon!!

First time to visit and we really enjoyed ourselves. Great music, excellent atmosphere and good service. My only complaint would be that the set seemed to be a bit short. Would have loved to hear some more music. But overall it is as a good time and we will be back!

The music was fantastic. The food tasted great. However, the music far exceeded the venue. Plastic cups, plates, and flatware, really? You dont serve upscale food on picnic plates.

Service was horrible... I went to their Thursday night open Mic. I had reservations for 4 people. arrived at 8:30. Sat down and waited 35 mins for someone to come and take my order.. no one came to service our table. I then got up and went to the bar to get my drink. even after that I was given a menu 50 mins after I arrived. only to be told that the kitchen is closed, due to the chief having allergic reaction from a bee sting! When I finally received some service they tried to over charge me for drunks that I paid for already. besides that great place for music. Just dont expect good service fir food and drinks

Very intimate setting to hear music, but strangely almost too small. Did not really like the food much but the pianist we saw was very good. Quite a small crowd the Saturday night we visited.

I have been to the Velvet Note multiple times, it’s what I call grown folks time. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. The owner is a phenomenal women she provides us with an outlet a place to come to and unwind. It is hands down one of my favorite spots

The music was great, the food was delicious, and the service was good. Would definitely recommend this place.

Very strange. Located in a strip mall between a Jersey Mikes and a Brazilian wax place. Prices are pretty high considering food is served on a plastic plate with plastic cutlery (avg $20 entrees). Drinks start at $11 and are extremely watered down. The music was good, but to get to the only bathroom you have to walk through the musicians lounge area. Overall a very odd experience.

Great intimate atmosphere, and amazing talent performing at this place....every performance Ive attended seems better than the last, if thats even possible. Its just outstanding. The food is great, service is great, music is great, acoustics are great. What more could you ask for from a jazz club?

Intimate and classy. Hard to believe such a unique club is behind the front door. Acoustics are balanced so you have an enjoyable listening experience not a mind blowing ear bleeding type of night.Reservations are a must if you want to insure a seat. Dont be shy about going to Open Mike night. We have heard amazing talent on more than one occasion.

Was one of the most amazing beautiful nights I have ever experienced. The performance was out of this world, and the food was delicious. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe was intimate, but not crowded. I highly recommend this experience.

I love the Velvet Note! Every time I go in there the place is like magic! Its cozy, intimate, and upscale. The staff is superb! The owner herself is very warm personable to everyone! The musicians are excellent! To me the best night to go is Thursday Nights because thats their Jam Session night. On that night, a mixture of talent comes out of the woodwork from Metro Atlanta and sit in or sing with the band....its truly magical! Also, the sound system is state of the art in the Velvet Note. It was especially made for that venue. You wont go wrong with the Velvet Note. Enjoy!

Nice music. Food portions were extremely small and expensive. Ordered the cheese platter for $15.00. Got approximately 4 pieces of cheese, 4 strawberries, a few Blueberries some crackers and a teaspoon of jelly on a board that claimed it was for 2 people.

Small intimate jazz club. Just think of it as a large living room and to make it better come with a large group of your friends and it will be like being in your own living room except with good food, bartended drinks and great music. We have been here multiple times and are never disappointed.

First rate jazz club in an intimate setting. My wife and I have been hunting for a jazz club and took a shot here - well worth the money. Reminded us of the many small restaurants in NYC on 1st or 2cd avenue, narrow and full of good stuff. Meal = great, music also great and we left well satisfied. Staff? Great. NOTHING WRONG here.

#1 Date Night place in Alpharetta. My favorite place to go.

They were so accommodating I was hosting 30 people from out of town for my husbands surprise party and the original venue failed to notify me that they were doing renovation found out the day of that they were closed called around to find a venue that was close to me in Alpharetta they The Velvet Note returned my sisters call within minutes and accommodated my entire party.........the music was excellent, the service was good and the food was amazing it was seemless!!! Thank you so much my husband and out of town guest REALLY enjoyed themselves

Great acoustic setting, great jazz music

Nice atmosphere and good food. Resident band was excellent. Unfortunately the piano was greatly out of tune and ruined the whole experience for me. The fantastic pianist deserves better than that. Tune your piano!!!!!!...and if it has trouble staying in tune, research why that is (unstable climate, HVAC vents too close, etc..) and correct it. Ragtime and honky-tonk music may sound OK with that tuning, but nothing else. I was however thrilled to see a decent grand piano instead of a cheap electronic initiation—just needs tuning and better upkeep.

Extraordinary experience... Velvet Note is a beautiful jazz lounge with very friendly sophisticated staff.. the experience with Keith David was mesmerizing.. outstanding performance of music and poetry.. and the food was AWESOME... beautuful jazz experience

A very intimate (maybe a bit cramped) venue for Jazz music that includes a light menu and full bar. There is an admittance fee to support the musicians. Wednesday night is blues night, Thursdays are open mic, every other day that they are open showcases talent in Jazz.

A very small venue. MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS. You can order small plates, dinner or a drink while listening to high quality musicians. They do not open their doors early and there is no place for waiting other than inside your car at the parking lot. It is very cozy, your table will be extremely close to other tables, some people will be sitting against the wall with no tables available. There is one area set up with a couch and two upholstered chairs. It is still a very enjoyable experience. The service is good, we only ordered drinks.

Loved this intimate club in the middle of a strip center. I would not eat here, we did not but other peoples food looked kind of meh. However the drinks were fine and the music was amazing!

Excellent concerts! The sound is REALLY great. This place is tiny, so you may be sharing a table with strangers. Food and drinks are good, even if average quality. (Nothing seems made in house, at least thats my impression.) Food is a bit pricey for what youre getting. I recommend it, and will return again!

They had good live music but layout was not the best. It was a long rectangular from the stage...we ordered dip with chips. They changed for extra chips.

Frank McCombs voice and music was the reason for our first visit. Hes an awesome talent. Thanks for welcoming his talent I enjoyed the crab cake and salmon and blue velvet house drink was nice. We will come back again! Space is small, but wont stop me from visiting for good musicians and vocalist. Thank you!

OMG !! The BEST !! Cozy, intimate, classy.

A shame this is limited by the space of a strip mall. Good jazz, good drinks at a very good price compared to Buckhead and downtown. We did not eat there but has the basic menu items. Bathroom is behind the stage in a storage type of area but theres nothing they can do to change or dress up that space. Enjoyable evening compared to the deficit of other cultural options in Johns Creek.

Visit this Jazz place on Mothers day 2019 in ATL and needless to say the band Bosman Twins from my hometown STL threw down on some good jazz music they were fantastic!

Newly wed long-time musician wanted a cool scene to celebrate our one-month anniversary. We liked the food and to not-too-load sounds of cool jazz/blues from the stage. Bob was a cordial host and welcomed a newcomer to the area warmly to the stage. Very much appreciated. The Velvet Note is by far the best club Ive been in (including NYC!).

Great listening room with a living room atmosphere. Food and drink menu lends to the surroundings and acts are entertaining and top notch. A very quaint and friendly place with great acoustics.

Awesome live music venue

I am kinda floored that anybody would give this place anything less than 5 stars. The type of place you see in the movies, that you dont think really exists. I showed up on a Thursday night (and went back and back and back), amazing house band, completely blown away. Wow. GO.
