Fun time, but can be difficult to learn. Minimal instruction unless you pay for lessons, but other people who were here were helpful as well. Be prepared to walk awhile if you fall off :)

For an hour and 57 minutes I face planted and face planted.... Fortunately its a 2 hour deal! The staff there helped immensely, and in my very last attempt I made it up and even made the full lap! 100% will go again! The staff was wonderful and the other people there were super helpful with advice.

Originally, I loved this place. I gave it five stars and I meant it. I actually still do love this place, but after spending probably 100 or so hours there this summer Ive learned of a few problems. The people who work there day-to-day are amazing. Some of them may be young, but that doesnt mean they dont know what theyre doing. They are super helpful and accommodating and truly make the whole experience a blast for everybody. That being said... the dude who runs this place has made some really bad decisions. The place has been slowly declining for a while, partly because its tucked so far back and partly bc the owner doesnt seem to care that much.He is very cheap..like really cheap. In fact, he recently stopped buying water for the employees. You can get a pack of 48 or so waters at Sams or Costco for less than $4. Hes actually that cheap. If this is how he treats his employees you can only imagine how he treats the park. There are a lot of things that need to be fixed or brought up to date around the property. Starting with maybe the water level thats been low forever? He is extremely out of touch with the people who actually run this place and I think it will slowly run the business into the ground.I really hope that in the next coming seasons he realizes this and starts to listen to the people who work there and know what the park needs to succeed. It really could be an amazing place, but the boss has got to step and make it happen.

I went to Hydrous a couple days ago, and was very pleased by the Pro Shop Service. I was especially satisfied with the service at the front desk. The girl working it at the time, Sophie, was very kind and patient, and helped with every question my kids and I had. Our experience was very fun and all the workers were very helpful and encouraging. Overall, Hydrous was a great activity on a hot summers day, and my family and I will surely come back soon.

So we went and did the hour lesson because we have never wakeborded before. Everyone did well on the beginner lane but there is definitely a learning curve for the main cable if its your first time. There was no pressure as we moved from the beginner cable to the main cable as everyone was super supportive and friendly as to what you did wrong. Overall we were very impressed with the facility and our teacher (matt) was super positive and supportive and coached us even after we were done on the beginner lane. Highly recommend this place for any level of experience because we were noobs but were definitely going back!

Enjoyable camps, nice, laid back staff and relatively clean facilities. The boards, helmets and other equipment for rent there are nice for the price and the main building is well built and clean. Would recommend for their camps.

Family group reservation for the training lake was super awesome (1-hour), but make sure you make the reservation at least 24 hours in advance for the best experience since they try to staff the training lake in advance. After a misunderstanding during my first visit that left me irritated, I had a very professional and understanding discussion with the manager (Garret). He made me feel wanted as a customer and he was even accommodating on a special request I had when I returned with my family. This a super fun family activity that anyone 7 or up can learn on the training lake, and it will make an awesome, unique memory even if you only went once or twice. Ask for Jayton as an instructor because he was fun and helped my kids learn quick and really enjoyed themselves. Just be aware that the training lake is pretty slimy around the bank, so be mentally prepared for that :-) Not really a big problem though.

I want to note that I am referring to the new Little Elm location. L. E. does not have their own page.Took my 9 year to Hydrous in Little Elm today, hoping that he would get the love of the water sport. Wrong!! We chose to go to the beginner pond for some up close instructions. I ended up telling him what to do. The teenager in charge of the pond, Chase, was more interested in the pretty assistant he had. He kept his eyes on her more than the kids on the water. One attempt to get up went horrible, cause while he was sitting ready to go, Chase, pulled the rope backwards at full speed and yanked him out of the water the wrong way. Everyone on the shore knew it hurt cause we all could hear him grown. The instructor, Chase, also called another child out to his friends saying, Oh great that kid is here, he sucks, were going to be here all day. Definitely was not a great experience for my son, and will not be back to this location. Bummer, its only 3 minutes from my house

I was very excited about this place when it first opened. Nice park, nice area, decent obstacles, close to home. Then something changed and I avoid returning to Hydrous Allen. They intermittently slow the cable down for new riders while the cable is spinning. Off the dock, the speed maybe 19, by the time I get to the backside, the speed could be 15. This all but eliminates hitting kickers, and rail hits are drastically different. By catering to new riders, Hydrous is completely alienating the experienced riders. They have 3 2 tower systems that are perfect for beginners, but Hydrous decides to slow down the main cable instead to accommodate these people. The operators are terrible. With a line of 10 people waiting to get off the dock, I counted 5 empty carriers go by with out a single person getting off the dock. They have also reduced the number of obstacles on the main lake, so less hits per lap. I really want to like this cable, but if they continue to operate this way, Ill continue driving from Dallas to Waco to ride BSR.

A private party apparently means nothing different than a regular pass, you get worked in with everybody else. A 17 yr old checked us in and couldnt find our waivers. Literally a 12 yr old checked out the equipment to us. (Somehow that doesnt seem safe or legal) After an hour of not making any headway I asked if they could maybe at least explain some basics to my group and I felt like I really put them out. No public bathrooms because they were out of order. If you like spending money with no expectation of customer service, then this is the place for you.

Its 2:35 pm banner says 2.00 and allen park still closed, this is what happens when you leave a bunch of kids run the store. Ive been in little elm park is good but staff is so slow sometimes theres 2 people riding and like a line of 20, operators are more interested in having a good time chatting than actually working, hope owners do something. Finally got to ride at 2.43 pm here in allen, i like little elm better than here tho, but I think its better and cheaper, if I rent a boat.

Ever since we figured out the Little Elm location was going to be a wakeboard park, our two girls couldnt wait to try it out. Since it opened a while back our girls have been about 5 times and beg to go all the time now. One time was with the girls soccer team and everyone had a blast (10 yr old girls and we used the grand opening birthday special to get them all in for $100 which was basically $10 each for two hours). We have started using Hydrous as an incentive for doing chores, getting good grades, etc... Our girls are 8 and 10 yrs old.

Id like to add that yes its run by inexperienced teenagers, but its because of the management that its so bad. I knew people who worked there and Ive heard why things are the way they are. Some of the staff is great, some are incompetent.

I am 48 years old and had never been wakeboarding (or waterskiing for that matter) until I first went to Hydrous two years ago. I had very limited balance sport experience and absolutely no talent for this type of activity. I have been to the Allen location over 80 times now and this is the FUNNEST thing I have ever done! Have a great time and get an awesome workout. I am not a big risk taker and the great thing is that this can be done safely if you are reasonably sane. I suspect that the bad reviews on here are by people who complain about everything, because Hydrous Allen is spectacular. One bit of advice though, check facebook for hours before coming out.

The owners of these parks are liars. they run a terrible business and completely rip you off in every way possible. there establishments are not in any way up to health code, as well as the cable constantly breaks. they cut corners building the little elm location and you can defiantly tell. they have no rails, terrible staff, a long wait, and their water literally looks like crap.(several people have gotten staff, and the owner does nothing about it.) if you cant to really see what a well run cable park is like id check out bsr. not only is it cheaper, but it is a quality park, with quality staff, quality rails, and a clean environment.
