I LOVEDDDDD this trail! The scenery is great! It is a great workout. People on the trail are friendly. The bike riders look out for walkers/runners and vice versa. I walked with my cousin and it was great! We parked at the outlets which is so convenient. Well planned trail with things to read and see along the way. Definitely one of my favorite trails. You should try it of you are in the area.
The trail is awesome. During weekdays. I am staying away now on weekends. I am so tired of the showoffs that are going way too fast on the narrow trail especially in areas where there is limited visibility because the path is winding. Not to forget the ones passing on the right without any notice. Anyway. The path is beautiful and well maintained.
This is one of my favorite trails. Its scenic, relaxing & a great walking experience. I walk this trail twice a week. Absolutely love it.
A little busy, but a great trail for a bike or run. Good scenery and a few places to stop and get a drink or a bit to eat in Alexandria.
Nice and scenic. Path is bumpy due to tree roots.
This is a nice park with nice water view its really cool.
If you like running right next to the noise of a freeway then this trail wont bother you.
Nice trail but gets very busy
Good trail to check out for a walk or go for a jog.
Best biking and jogging trail in Nova, spectacular views!
It was one of the greatest places to walk and getaway from the daily stresses in life.
Great place to bike or jog.
Smooth level and great scenery
Such a beautiful and serene place to walk, sit and enjoy nature’s charm, bike, or run! Total zen!
Excellent trail, except when the trail is to crowed.
Great trail! Ive been here many times. Its great for biking, jogging or walking. Be careful if you are using a street bike. The trail has some rough spots.
Great and well lit
Best trail in the region.
Beautiful 17 mile trail along GW Parkway with sweeping views of the monuments and DC skyline. The trail starts from Roosevelt Island bends around Gravelly Point to the DCA airport, then uphill to Crystal City and meanders through Alexandria, goes past River Farm, and finally winds up at Mount Vernon Estate. The trail is relatively flat and shaded in most areas. Ive done the full stretch while training for the Marine Corp marathon. Great preparation! From downtown Alexandria to Mount Vernon, its hard to find a good pit stop to get water/food and the trial is swarmed with bikers. The lanes can get narrow, so be on the look-out with some ringing in your ears! The Gravelly Point section gets the most foot traffic as Crystal City is an easy entry point and right near the metro. My favorite running trail in VA with the best views!
Great for walking and bike riding
Great walk.
Nice bike highway. Coukd be improved by safer faster way through old town Alexandria, and by handling the numerous root bulges in the path. Otherwise, a redesign for more efficient speed would be nice, but unlikely.
Great trail for a peaceful walk or an intense workout.
Beautiful place to relax through nature and escape a little from the noise and the crowd !!!
Had a wonder 20 mile ride today. It was beautiful on the trail with a good flow of folks exercising. Great time to be in the DMV!
Great bicycling
Nice park. Was looking for restrooms after walking the WW Bridge. So glad they were there.
Incredible trail-- at about 5 miles south of Old Town it gets fairly hilly so be aware. Lots of great views along the Potomac, well maintained, and if you go all the way south youre rewarded with Mount Vernon!
Trained here and put in 14miles before heading out to the Bataan Memorial Death March. A beautiful trail with tons of distance to get in all the mileage you need.
Its Mt. Vernon. Its a trail...along the water. Absent an alligator...it gets 5 Stars.
Great for family walks and biking. Im a road biker and love riding this, but need to be more careful and ride slower than normal because of the people/pets/kids etc
Very nice to go for a walk
My hike covered parts of miles 1 and 2 of the 14 mile, Mount Vernon Trail, within the George Washington Memorial Parkway. If youre starting at Mount Vernon, the mile one trail runs into Riverside Park. Continue on pass mile two marker, you will observe signs for larger, Fort Hunt Park. Observe nature, Potomac River, picnic areas, and restrooms on site. Parking at various points along the trail, for site seeing, or other activities.
Great place to ride your bike. You must have ordered the roots that have elevated the trail which makes for a bumpy ride.
Always beautiful tranquil and meditative. Until you get struck by a bicyclist :)
A great trail for running, walking, biking and enjoying Potomac views and nature.
Beautiful views of the river and city. Bicyclists are rude to pedestrians and continued to argue with people. Unfortunately the cyclists dont know the cycling laws. Plus multiple safety hazards which are easy to fix but still hazards none the less.
Love this scenic trail
Always a wonderful place to walk, run or bike. Wonderful views and tranquility.
If you love riding a bike you can’t miss renting a bike in DC for this trail in the morning and eventually have lunch in Mt Vernon. Refreshing adventure. The trail is safe and requires minimal preparation (meaning you must be able to ride 20 miles on a bike).
Always a pleasure when its mostly sunny with a nice breeze.
This is one of my favorite places to spend time outdoors in the area. The path is always well-kept and spans for miles. Most people that use the path are considerate and know the rules and etiquette. The most criticism I have about the path is the congestion during nice days. It can get crowded and dangerous if you are not paying attention.
Very scenic bike riding/ running route!
Beautiful and clean, with nice views of Nature
Great for walking, running, or biking, though it gets crowded at peak times. Its best to go at sunrise/sunset or on week days if you want to avoid crowds. The stretch South of Old Town Alexandria is especially picturesque.
Great for riding. Bike or going for a run
Sometimes crowded, bumpy and flooded, but awesome anyway for the views of DC, the beauty of Lady Bird Park, a great connector and commuter trail.
One of the best place to visit.
Not too formula with this place just passed thru.
Busy, sometimes rutted, narrow and twisty, but pretty scenery.
So quiet and peaceful.
Best place to run!
Good place for a jog!
A local treasure both a historical and nature/fitness gem.
Beautiful
I really appreciate
Great nature walk.
Good place
All I can say is that you must see for yourself! Very beautiful, scenic, and you will meet a lot of walkers and bikers along your way.
Love it
Towards last 1/4 mile entering Virginia is underlit at night and a dangerous proposition to cyclist.
Cute!
Great for a bike, walk, run.
Loved the serenity!
Great trail for running with many historical markers.
Great fitness trail that leads to many locations
One of the best trails around
Nice peaceful walk
A magic place
A good place to walk or bike.

Very scenic and relaxing
Love it for biking
Bye MD, back to VA!
Bike rides!
Great trail that takes you to Mount Vernon. Tough climb on the bike to Washington’s house. But so worth it!
