Great soccer fields for the kids!

Plenty of space to play soccer

The field is well-maintained, but could use a restroom of some sort without walking across the creek and through the adjacent Gabe Catalfo soccer field --as the small fry soccer players usually play the smaller Fielding Field and have little bladders and water breaks every ten minutes of play. There are also air quality issues, including air wafting off the Berkeley Transfer Station (dump) right across the train tracks.

Google takes you to the field but it is in University Village with all parking near the field reserved. The gates on most sides are locked.You can park on or near sixth street and walk in through Codornices creek or the larger fields to the south.

They need to mow the grass it too high.

The parking sucks when there are so many practices or games going on. Once I found a bunch of hypodermic needles under the benches on the fielding fields. The homeless encampment makes me a little nervous around the kids.

A semi-swamp, even at the end of summer. Dont forget your mosquito repellant.
