Exceptional place and really affordable. The RiverQuarium while not very large delivers in a huge way with the fish, reptiles, and birds on offer! The Macaw’s are very healthy, the Piranhas are awesome, but the sturgeon alone is worth the visit!Strongly recommend, you can visit the entirety of the museum in 1-2 hours and worth the stop.

It was a great start! We genuinely enjoyed all of the sites until we got to the turtles and found a clearly dead one (grey/white shell and picked out eyes) and then found another large lizard also slumped dead in an exhibit. We thought it might be sleeping but looking at it you could see it wasnt breathing and its head was starting to go white. Was sad to see those animals because overall we had a great time besides that.

Nice aquarium to spend an hour in. Some of the exhibits need some sprucing up but they were doing construction so maybe that was temporary. The aviary was great, and the blue hole was fascinating. Good for kids, and walking distance to downtown.

What a fun experience. Kids thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Flint RiverQuarium. We almost missed the alligators and the aviary. Make sure you don’t miss any areas! Really neat rehabbed wildlife in the outdoor area. The Cormorant is a character! We got to see them at feeding time which really made our day!

This is a very nice small-town aquarium. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Good information and healthy looking animals helped make this an enjoyable visit. On a side note, this is a great, solid-feeling place to wait out a tornado (1/22/2017) - the staff was very concerned for our safety.

Long review below, so...TL;DR - this is a VERY cool place, great for both families and inquisitive adults. Definitely visit for a unique and educational experience.Full review:This is a VERY cool place. I was in Albany from Texas working on a local project and had some unexpected free time. I saw signs for this location as I drove into Albany, and thought it would be something unique and neat to check out. Because of the location and the name, I expected it to be small and, honestly, underwhelming. I mean, what could you really exhibit for JUST ONE river?? Most AQUARiums I have visited can fit the topic of River Ecosystem into just one (typically small-ish) exhibit in their lineup, after all.It definitely isnt huge, so expectation = reality here. The name Flint Riverquarium pretty much sets the expectation that no other bodies of water are covered outside of the Flint River.I was NOT prepared to be BLOWN AWAY with the overall experience. For what seems like a fairly narrow topic, the facility gives a really nice, cohesive introduction and educational immersion into the Flint rivers multiple (and extremely unique and diverse, I might add!) ecosystems and habitats. The exhibits are visually attractive and well maintained, and layout allows you to meander through each exhibit without much trouble (sorry, couldnt help myself with the river pun ). Content is nice balance of interactive games and exhibits for younger visitors with plenty of interesting exhibits and information for curious adults. I love that many of the exhibits highlight local plants and animals that you may not see in a standard aquarium exhibit (check out that ENORMOUS snapping turtle!!). It adds a nice regional flavor/flair and keeps the exhibits fresh.Hats off to whomever had the vision to design and build this gem. As a tourist destination, it successfully highlights something that is unique and special to Albany, GA and the surrounding region, and provides stimulating activity for all visitors. hope to return and visit again, and 10/10 would recommend to anyone planning a visit to Albany, GA.

I think that the RiverQuarium is pretty good. I certainly wouldnt say that it is exceptional, but it is a good distraction for an hour or two. The flow of the aquarium was not a cohesive story of the Flint. There is saltwater aquaria mixed in. It has the start of something great, it just needs to seize upon what makes the Flint special and edit the rest.

Such a gem! We really enjoyed our visit here. There are a lot of species to see, including fish, turtles & tortoises (including snapping and alligator snapping turtles), salamanders, eels, alligators and even birds. There are large, well-designed viewing areas that really allow you to take in the full experience, as well as smaller exhibits that you can see up close. Dont miss the hatchery -- seeing shark eggs & tiny baby turtles was a highlight of our visit.

Im giving 3 stars ONLY bc my 19 month old daughter LOVED it and had a great time. Overall, the facility only deserves about 1 star as it is currently.-As soon as you pay and start walking up the stairs, theres a water leak thats caused damage to the wall. It had been raining Saturday, so there was an active leak.+The images on the walls have been updated and are pretty cool.-The interactive activities do not work. The water table has always been my favorite. I was so ready to go play with it, only to find it dry and no water. The weather game does not work. The water works wall half works, but you can hardly see it due to all the build up on the glass. Its also all nasty looking inside from scum/mold looking stuff.-Theres only 1 sea horse. Only 1 shark egg. Not much to see there.-Only 1 tank has a stool for small children to stand on. Why not make it easier for smaller children to see in ALL tanks? My daughter literally kept trying to pull herself up on the ledge of tanks because she likes to be independent. LET THE LITTLE KIDS SEE THE FISH. That would be a relatively inexpensive upgrade.+We went later in the day and it wasnt busy, so we were able to take our time and not bother or be bothered by anyone else.-It was still full price admission for 2 adults ($19) for a broke down aquarium visit.+The only reason it was worth it was my daughters enjoyment.

The facility is very nice. We went on a week day, however, I was surprised we were the only visitors there. It was 8$ for Seniors and 9$ for adults. I do not know what student and children prices are but it is listed on the website. The facilities is nice but needs a little ( not a lot) of sprucing up, however, if attendance is not higher..... I can not imagine what the up keep cost are.The Aviary is small but several coastal birds and songbirds to see.I would definitely recommend going and more people need to go and support this wonderful place.

Its a great place to see some cool water animals and small enough place young children can make it all the way through without getting tired and crabby. Admission is reasonable. You can go down to the river edge and step into the water and watch little fishes along the edge. Also an area where the kids can play and run through water that shoots up from the ground. They can climb on animal statues and has slides and such. Play area is free.
