A newish park in Alameda with a smooth loop for skating or biking. PRO TIP: Hit a U Turn after going forward for ten minutes on the bike loop if youre with kids age 8 and under. If you dont, you may end up carrying a scooter and a child like we did. Now that we have learned, we do half the loop and then hit the zipline, giant slide, or swings. Plenty of space to play in the newly designed playgrounds. Jane Sweenys vision for this old railyard is now one I can appreciate. There appears to be plenty of gazebo space for multiple parties with plenty of distance between. We stopped at the nearby In and Out drive thru on the way home. Everyone was happy.

The park integrates nature and play structures. Kids will be able to balance on tree logs, go down a 10 foot slide, ride a 50 foot zip line, and play on slides, swings, sand pit and a jungle gym. There are picnic tables and a nice running trail. Theres plenty of parking and people can host outdoor events. Enjoy some outdoor fun in Alamedas new park.

People were not social distancing! Children were at the playground plating. The caution tape had been pulled of the play structures. No one had on masks except me and like 3 or 4 other people. The park itself is nice and my nephews party was nice... I was just disappointed in the close proximity of everyone...

This is my new favorite park! Its really peaceful, parking is a breeze in the parking lot, there is a well kept bathroom, water fountains and the kud play area seems to be well maintained. My daughter loves the zip line that she can do all on her own. Water play, sand, big stainless steel slide, spider web swing for 4, climbing structures...safe, no traffic, clean, what more can you ask for. Love it!!

We love this playground! There is a big playground for kids 5-12 years old with a big stainless steel slide, huge tire swing, web climbing structure, xylophone, logs to climb on, large sandbox with water fountain, a special swing that slides on a rope on another end(I dont know what its called. There is a fenced playground (swings, slides, etc) beside it for younger kids with a picnic bench and table. There is a restroom easily within reach of these play areas.A square paved area where you can keep biking or scooting around, while the parents can sit on many benches around it as well. There is a roofed area for having a party for maybe 100pax (?) and a large grassy area in front of it. There are actually many grassy areas everywhere too for a picnic, for playing catch, to set up a tent, etc. There is a small pavilion. This park is very accessible. From the parking lot, there are no steps so you can roll into the park, and the walkways are well-marked. There are many paved paths to access the different areas of the park. There are concrete and rugged paths. They are perfect for walking, jogging, biking, scooting, skating, etc. You can go further out or you can go around a smaller area. There are slight and steeper inclines. The park is already way awesome as it is, and we look forward to when they develop the rest of the space!

This is one of my favorite parks to take my kids in Alameda. Unfortunately its a new park so all the trees are still small and the park hardly has any shade. If your kids love to play in sand and make a mess with water then I recommend bringing an extra outfit, the sand/water table can produce large puddles

Cool new park in Alameda. Not a lot of shade, so hot days out there can be pretty brutal. Definitely bring water. It looks like it has a cool group picnic/party spot too, which we will get to try out at a 1-year-old birthday party in a couple of weeks. Cool equipment and set up, though. Our little girls had a blast.

Nice historic land that has been converted into a family park. We only visited the playground area. It has a well-designed playground space, zip line, cycling track, large sandpit, wide slide and hill, plus restrooms. My only concern is that kids of different ages and sizes go down the same aluminum slide and most adults are just watching. I saw a lot of close calls with a larger kid about to slide into a smaller kid who didnt have time to leave the bottom area.

Well done! Could use some doggy waste bag stations. There are none for some reason. Twice Ive picked up dog poop from the sidewalks. (Not my dog). Park is so popular that trash receptacles are overflowing. So needs more attention to that. Congratulations on a beautiful, well designed park. Hopefully the next phase has an off leash dog park. We noticed that there is a section of hydroseeded wildflowers right by the parking lot. Lots of California Poppies coming up. Some other flowery goodies also. Cant wait to see this turn into a flowery meadow.

THIS. PARK. IS. SERIOUSLY. AMAZING. Im so happy that Alameda completed this project and that its now open! I had heard of it during construction phases but didnt realize it was open now, we chanced upon it when we were in the area and im glad we did. They really outdid themselves. We visited on Wednesday 5-22-19.First, about the essentials: plenty of free parking, a nice bathroom, lots of places to sit and chill or tables to picnic. Its all nicely built and all seems sturdy enough to last.Theres something here for everyone of all ages. A sweet sand pit with a button-activated water stream feature for hot days, an enclosed play area for the younger kids with everything from kiddie swings to a typical traditional playground structure with slides and lots to climb around on, a giant slide with a little climbing section next to it, spider web-like climbing rope structure, a huge bike trail, cool chimes/xylophone instrument with little attached mallets to play with, lots of green grassy open space to play all kinds of games on, a neat huge swing, lots of trees, cool logs and obstacle course-like features to jump around and balance on.There is a zip line that is apparently going to be fixed very soon-- according to a family I was chatting with, who then directed me to the parks website, replacement parts for the broken pieces have been ordered and Alameda will be fixing it to have it operational again ASAP. So we will definitely be coming back soon and hope to be able to check that out.I took a short video clip but unfortunately there doesnt seem to be a way for me to share it here. Next time we go Ill take a few photos to post.My family has been to lots of parks l over the bay area including a number in Alameda. Its very hard to pick favorites since they all have things to love. But, if I had to choose one, this park would definitely be a contender for the top. Go check it out. Next time we go were bringing the kids bikes, our little mini shade tent, and a picnic for a proper daytrip adventure.

Yes, the park is nice. But my gosh, for the people who live by the park, I am going insane. People are yelling, screaming, skateboarding, playing loud music past 12am.This was the main reason I was against this park in the first place. Alameda has plenty of parks! I have been here for more than 18 years and it has always been quiet and nice people who walk their dogs occasionally. But now we have to listen to these extremely loud people all night and day. There needs to be a curfew or something because I cant even open my window anymore at night because its so loud!
