If you love golf and appreciate its history, you need to play here! This is the Fenway Park/Wrigley Field of Golf. Course is Beautiful and well maintained . They have kept its historical character all the way through 18 holes, and I loved playing here.

Terrifically fun golf course. First, the negatives; no driving range, road noise from a nearby highway on the middle holes, and people who drive 300 yards will probably not hit driver on most holes. The course is short but not without defense. Fairways are sometimes narrow. Bermuda rough can be thick and deep. But the main defense is severely sloping, fast greens. This is a more than 100 year old course and every part of the course feels like a celebration of all that history; Waste bunkers, trees that come into play and must be as old as the course, 9 holes out and 9 back in, stonework and buildings dating to the glory days of the winter colony, and even a stymie meter on the scorecard. A person who has only played modern courses may find this course quirky. I find it a terrific test of every part of my game.

Really enjoy playing this course. Really takes you back in time. The way the pub, clubhouse and amenities are all together like the old clubhouse at forest hills- adding a little pressure to your first tee shot.The course is old links style- with mostly narrow fairways and generous greens as long as you hit the right location.Tee boxes, fairways and greens are always in good shape.Recommend to play at least once- you won’t be sorry

Great course short but a great challenging track

They have done a ton of work over the years here since it was Highland Park. My grandfather, Clem Cowan, used to play here often and from what I understand quite good. My dad told me we had life memberships here but Ive never checked as it is no longer highland.

For the price of green fees including carts. This is the best deal in GOLF. I think the OWNER is cheating himself for how little he charges. Especially as hard as he and he’s father have worked in the last 60 plus years!! Get here before he catches on!

Absolutely beautiful course. The course layout is great also. It may be shorter than many courses that are out there today but the layout gives you a challenge that most modern courses can not. By taking the driver option away on a good amount of the holes you really have to be up to par on your short game. Putting is also more difficult than on most modern courses with the grass being bent if I remember correctly. All in all I had a great experience here and would love to get back down again and play with more of my friends.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Course was in pretty good shape. If you consider yourself a good golfer, play the tips. Its a very short course but greens and layout keep it challenging.

Decently diverse course makes for a fun competitive game with a group of your friends. That is, as long as youre not the worst player amongst the group. Even then, still a fun, challenging course that offers something different and unique with each hole.

Historic course. Course in great shape.

The Grill is great little place, with wonderful food and outstanding service. A real touch of class, with a taste of old Aiken. Its is a little out of the way, but well worth the trip.

Highland Grille was excellent last night. It was my first visit and the service was exceptional and the food was delicious! Nice armosphere! We will be back!

Course overall is in great shape, especially the fairways. Sand traps have a whole lot to be desired. Need to know the course to shoot well. Reasonable prices.

The price is outrageous(ly reasonable) for the quality of the course. Its the longest short course youll ever play. If you think youre going to come from a wide open parkland course and beat this place into submission with your driver, you are in for a very, very, VERY long day - and a lot of lost balls. Be patient, hit fairway wood/hybrid/long iron whenever possible, respect the course and pick reasonable targets, and you will have a blast... the course is tough, but fair. There are no, I repeat, NO flat spots on the greens. Read what you see, and youll be fine. The clubhouse is very nice, as is the staff - has some great conversations before and after the round. An excellent experience overall; I ended up buying a lot of merchandise afterwards to make up for the fact that I felt like I got away with something - seriously, they could double the price for non members and it would still be a bargain...

One of the best (grooming) courses in the local area. Greens roll good and true. You can take a divot in the fairway. Youre not hitting off of hardpan like another course we recently played in the area.

This course was built in 1902 as part of the Highland Hotel. Aiken was and still is a winter colony town. The course is not long but a challenge. I played here in the 60s

Outstanding experience at the Aiken Golf Club.

A challenging course with several opportunities to prove yourself as a contender. Less than $45 for 18 holes and a cart rental makes it a winner in my book.
