Its worth the effort to get to this place! There are two hikes, one that is super easy and would be good for everyone... and another that is quite a bit more of a challenge. Today we did the easy one! Park outside of the gates, and walk through the door to a place that is just as beautiful as El Yunque, but with far fewer people. The mountain brings fresh drinking water to visitors, and there are plentiful resting places along the way. The path is paved, and at the end, there is a very nice overlook area with more seating. If you want to do the more challenging hike, you pick up the trail head to the left of the fenced yellow house. It is a steep, muddy climb, but there is a view (I am assured) that is worth the work. Important note: Go early enough to complete the 45 minute climb (each way), and be back down before 1pm for the best chance of a view and to avoid the afternoon rains.

Its about a 45 min. Hike to get to one of the highest peeks of Puerto Rico, but it was worth it.
