If you’re looking for anything aviation, this is the place to go. From the outside, it doesn’t look like too much. On the inside, it is so much more. Waiting for you is for 4 hangers A beautifully maintained aircraft. As far as I’m concerned this is a must see you in the area. Dan was an extremely helpful volunteer and walked with me throughout the exhibits and hangers giving me tidbits of information that I appreciated. I’ll be back when I can spend even more time reading each plaque. Thank you!

Weve been wanting to visit this museum for a long time. Glad we finally did. An amazing collection of aircraft spread along 4 hangars. They have a beautiful P-51 that almost looks brand new. They do birthday parties for your little av-geeks. Nice gallery of paintings as well. Definitely the highlight of Addison.

Amazing collection with static and operational aircraft on display. 4 large hangars full of aircraft, along with outdoor displays. The maintenance hangar is open to the public, common to see their P-51 and A-1’s being worked on (engine cowlings removed.) 2 operational A-1’s, seeing one sitting between an F-86 and F-4 puts the size in perspective. Massive radial engine. What you see is only part of the collection, some of the larger operational aircraft are stored elsewhere. They usually bring those out for air shows. The spring 2019 show there was amazing. The original Crew Chief, Robert Schrader (US Army, Vietnam 63’-64’), of the dhc-4 C-7 Caribou was on hand to give tours of the aircraft and talk about his time serving in the early years of the Vietnam War.

Large collection of world war I and world war II airplanes and helicopters from US, Russia and Germany. Ticket is only $12 per person for adults. You can easily spend 2-3 hours seeing the airplanes. The museum has a small gallery and gift shop as well. Unlike other gift shops, prices are very reasonable. You can also book a 1 hour flight in one of the airplanes. I have not tried it. The prices vary between $250 to $2000 per person depending on the airplane selected.

I love military hardware and planes so I obviously enjoyed this. Four hangers of restored aircraft, many of which were specifically used in combat. The details for each one with its individual serial number are given on plaques. The veteran working as a volunteer was very helpful, answered tons of my questions, and knew so much about every piece on display. Highly recommend. I may go again if the opportunity arrises.

Lots of fun for the whole family! We enjoyed the museum and all the terrific exhibits. The docents were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly. We were told about this museum by a docent at the Frontiers of Flight museum, and it was terrific! Its much smaller, but the exhibits are much more accessible and feel more vital. You can, for a admittedly large cost, actually FLY in some of the exhibits. The cost in scope with the prices of fuel, maintenance, and insurance are actually quite reasonable, but if you arent aware of those factors, it can be pretty surprising- dont get the kids hopes up, you DO have to be 18 years old to fly. Oh, and if youre a Pokemon Go player, there are plenty of stops within and around the museum, lol.

Its been a while since visiting this flight museum and its likely we (my grandkids and I) will try to go back this summer. Excellent display of vintage aircraft as well as other military gear. My grandson was thrilled to be allowed behind the ropes to closely inspect - and touch - a T34 tank that was being restored, and the workshop is certainly impressive. The fact there are so many restorations ongoing and that a significant number of aircraft are air-worthy highlights the commitment of a lot of contributors.

Fantastic collection of WW2 aircraft, the majority of which they keep operational and fully functioning. 4 hangars house these marvelous machines in addition to many parked around the grounds outside. The amount of care and restorative work that they put into their aircraft is top notch! The art gallery is just as impressive as the many displays in the hangars. Each time our family goes, we see something new. A marvelous preservation of history and a wonderful memorial to all those who put their lives on the line for us. Although I have been here several times, this time my kids bought me a ride in a T-6 for Christmas. I literally cannot say enough good about these guys. The experience was nothing short of amazing. The crew went well out of their way to make it a terrific experience, reassuring my wife that I would make it back alive, explaining the process and history of the aircraft, and showing general hospitality that was above and beyond. My pilot also went above and beyond to make my experience fun. He did an amazing job of piloting the aircraft while tending to my experience as well. Top notch piloting! As for the facility and displays, the place is immaculate. The displays are clean and well arranged and it is really noteworthy how nice the aircraft look. A good variety of types that offer a highlight of military aviation. Well done guys, well done.

Took my 9 yr old son to the museum. Hes as much a history buff as I am so he thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Its a little smaller than the Frontiers of Flight museum in Dallas, but it does offer more military aircraft. We enjoyed our tour and took several photos to record our visit as one of the summer activities we enjoyed together. Id recommend a visit to the museum if you enjoy learning about history and your looking for something to do without spending too much time or money. Also be sure to spend some time in the art gallery, as that is a unique display that isnt readily available at other more high profile museums (i.e. Smithsonian). One thing I do recommend, especially if you arent local to DFW, is that in the summer plan your visit in the morning as much of the displays are outside, so the Texas summer heat can be miserable for out of state visitors.
